A charming Akstafa Shirvan dating back to the last quarter of the nineteenth century.

This rug is made from 100% wool on a wool foundation and is has traditional bold Caucasian features with deep colouring from natural dyes. A rich blue field holds two well drawn medallions surrounded by traditional motifs and the odd flower and animal figurine, framed with terracotta style intricate border.

A beautiful antique Caucasian rug in fantastic condition, suitable for normal domestic use.

With all our handmade rugs, we recommend using a non-slip underlay, whether it will be placed on hard flooring or on wall to wall carpet, to stop the rug moving about. This can be purchased from us for £25 per linear meter (width 180cm)
